Hey Everyone, first time posting. So I recently started up a job in Data Entry at a warehouse that does distribution for its stores. I don't mind it too much, it has it's issues. So our warehouse is split into two groups, the Floor and “management”. The floor involves anyone doing the actual labor, from offloading trailers, loading to everything in between. Then there is the other group. Now the floor is unionized, has been for a long time. Now working in the Data entry side, the company made a workaround by labeling our positions as “Management” so we are not under a union. But thing is, we don't have the same abilities or power as those actually in roles like supervisors and management, we still do the grunt work of data entry. How can one work around this to unionize the Data Entry workers? I am in Canada, and the company is a popular discount clothing/home furniture company, not only here but in the US, UK and Australia. I am happy to answer any questions if it helps to get closer to unionize. I am anti work, but I'd like to make this multibillion dollar company bleed a bit while here.
