How to write an open letter to boss from group of employees and is it worth it?

My company creates an event for this time of year, every year. We try making it bigger and better every year but last year, and this, when we opened a couple weeks ago, it fell apart. We didn't finish it on time, with staff working 9 days plus, some of them 12 or more hours a day to get it finished although we didn't. Complaint after complaint from customers and all address at the staff managers just walked off. Unfinished buildings, with tools left around and construction equipment left around, wet paint, damaged flooring, out of date food and drink, untrained staff and false advertising. War site in parking lot and gardens. And all of this could have been avoided. We know we do it yearly we could start in spring but don't. No plans made up and distributed, just single tasks given by management and then you have to…

No plans made up and distributed, just single tasks given by management and then you have to find managers again for the next role. Dismantling completed tasks to make changes. And constractors booked for the last minute. No testing of IT, models, lighting or technical equipment so it went wrong repeatly. Some carpenters building something, pack up and move on to then told to build something extra onto the existing product.

I fully believe we could make this amazing but our director/owner and operatioks management stands in the way constantly throught them not deligating and planning properly. There's part of him who knows this but he's been let down in the past.

I've listened to complaint after complaint from other staff and have a massive list of them. Many of them approach me as I am in the middle of management and staff. I can't approach the director as he'll blame everyone else. There is talk of massive walk outs in the new year. And some of the hired help gets better pay and privileges than our staff because “without them we couldnt run ” although normal staff work there socks off to get it all finished.

Is it worth writing a letter to the director and his silent partner from all the staff? He could hear the voice of all his staff without having a single person to blame. I think if it comes from all of us then it would sink in more.
