This is really just sad. I work in the Tampa area, close to Tampa Bay.
There are currently mandatory evacuation warnings in several parts of the county, storm surge warnings stating up to 10ft of surge (flooding the first floor of every building to the ceiling), and there is no water or supplies left almost anywhere. Yet despite this, many of my coworkers are deciding they are going in to work during the ENTIRE storm from Wednesday to Friday.
These people are stuck in a shitty spot, a LOT of them need the money, but the company heads have decided to not give any pay for the plant employees who have to evacuate. That's essentially forcing them to choose between bills or life; no one should have to make that kind of choice.
All I can think of is how this could potentially be like that amazon facility that got hit by a tornado.
Don't choose money over life. Money can be fixed, losing your life can't. Be safe, and be careful.
