Hurricane consolidation

So I don't know if this quite fits here but I want to note how natural disasters concentrate wealth specifically in the climate denial mode. I lost my home in Sandy in 2012. I was homeless (not houseless) for 3+ years after; we always had a roof over our heads but never had a place to set down roots. Over the years I've seen homes that people couldn't afford to raise be forced to sell to people who would build giant vertical mansions on. I've seen permanent residences turned into palatial second homes. I hate these people from the bottom of my heart. Know that most of the people who own (and I mean truly own) these properties in these coastal vacation areas are not worth your time or sorrow. They are the ruling class.
