This state, and I hate to say it because it has been my home for the last decade, has gone down the toilet. Nothing you do here as a worker is ever going to be enough to have just the basic necessities and still save some money at the end. Nothing makes sense here. Paying 3k for a basic one bedroom apartment does not make sense. Loosing thousands per year because of insane gas costs does not make sense. Crappy houses that cost half a million dollars does not make sense. Traffic, smog, and a rat race of a life does not make sense. Unfriendly, stressed out and overworked people does not make sense. A minimum wage of $15 does not make sense. I am only in my late twenties and I will never ever be able to afford my own house in this horrific state. I will stay here with my mother for one more year, save and pay off as much college debt as I can, and then bye bye to this state forever and ever. I got dozens of other states I can move to, and mark my words, I will. I don’t give a crap about the god damn sun, or the pretty blondes, or the the beach. If my wallet is unfairly getting drained, bye bye. California, you’ve lost my business.
