I was recently taking a long road trip and decided to halt at a motel for the night. Since I didn’t know the area, I thought ordering UBER EATS was a safe way of getting food at 1 am.
It was late and I was having trouble finding restaurants. Two restaurants had already taken and cancelled my order. Finally my order was accepted. There was some offer for UBER ONE customers that basically gave me a $20 discount.
As my bill came down from $32 to $12, I decided to give a $12 tip (100%) in the hopes that my driver wouldn’t cancel on me. I just had one request, I texted him on the app and asked him to ensure he brings a fork with the order because there were no Utensils in the motel room. He said okay.
He delivered my order at the door and left. And what do you know, no fork in there. I had to end up eating the pasta with my bare hands.
I might just never tip again.
