I recently saw a post about naming the company so reddit can stand up for people. I not sure what to do anymore.
I work for a supported living and I loved the work at first until I was promoted and then demoted. The company is a for profit that is supposed to serve developmentally delayed individuals. I did well if this field, I am able to work with 2 clients that are high level of maintenance. The director heard and saw me in action, offered me a promotion. I took it and was offered many promises. The promises were for proper management training (not just “field” training), support, and the golden age of a company that will never happen. As I was a manager is witnessed and was instructed to perform illegal protocols, I was naive didn't realize it till later. I and another manager always brought up issues in the homes that needed to be fixed, and they never did. A lot of the issue require money and a lot of information about what the clients get form the state was hidden from us. The clients and staff do not have the resources for quality of life nor hygienic needs. The clients and staff are exploited and neglected. The staff are not paid was we are legally supposed to be paid and staff for forced to work 20+ hours because management doesn't care to to make proper schedules. recently on staff worked 32 hours and not a single one of the managers bother to respond. Everything that the previous managers and I had established that functioned was dismantled, after the mangers had been disciplined and/or retaliated against. Now the office is made up of the directors friends and rarely do they answer there phone for emergency's, title includes call. The owner can care less and the directer singleness of purpose in profits at the expense of staff and clients.
Everyone that was disciplined was done so in a confusing way. We were immediately given a final write up or fired, and everything was hearsay, they did not want our side of the story or to investigate.
I had done what I could to rally the other staff because they have the same complaints and the same wants, but it's like they are used to being treated like shit. I've called numbers to report violations and don't know if anything will happen or I get the run-a-round. I have one more number to call and after that I don't know. I wanted to help a company get out of a ruin and we are now back to ruin. I feel like I have offer a solution and feel that my services are want wanted even after what is was people asked for.
This is just a summary, I now feel like I can do nothing after I was betrayed, duped, and then anger once I realized. As defeated as I feel I don't seem to give up.
