The organization I work for has been looking for a “top tier admin” for over 6 months now, but they only want to pay $25 an hour which doesn't seem to be what a top tier admin is willing to settle for.
My job is to send the resumes to the hiring manager and pass on Feeback to the staffing agency/recruiters, and some of the reasons they reject the resumes are outrageous.
A new decision maker recently stepped into the process and started denying resumes for the same ridiculous reasons as the last one, but isn't as savvy with words.
It's only been 2 days, but she's rejected applicants for minor spelling errors on their resumes, and for “job hopping” (again we're only hiring contract workers). They want people who want to work there for years but only offer temporary contracts, and they want a $25/hr admin who doesn't make minor spelling errors.
After I copy/pasted the hiring manager's feedback, one of the recruiters has already expressed in writing that they're not going to make it a priority the position if we're going to reject people like that. I probably should have told the hiring manager that recruiters don't like seeing their work shat on, but it was time for some chaos.
