I Chose Time Over Money

The job I had previously was sometimes 6-7 days a week. As the manager I was on call, as a low manager I was supposed to be splitting all duties with the manager of the same title but way higher pay. As you can imagine I was expected to everything. I was tired all the time, depressed, bitter at the treatment and bullshit. It was the most money I was ever paid at a job and I hated it. I started looking for other jobs but nothing looked good until I landed a bartender position. Three days a week… That's it, not making as much and the pay is fluctuating as its through tips but oh my God am I happier. 4. Days. Off. I have made 6 sculptures, I explored new mediums of art, I have written five chapters of my book and am nearly finished with it, I'm working out, I'm reading again, I have time for friends and family, I'm alive and doing things! I've not been this happy in months.

So I did it, I chose time over money and I'll never go back. It's not 6 figures, but it's a life and that's worth more to me than anything else.
