I quit my job of 6 years which was more of a lifestyle. For reasons I'll be vague.
I got help making a nice spiffy resume and someone showed me grammer and wording that is important in resumes. It worked like a charm. I had many job offers all basically general labour jobs. And i told them all, Im looking for a better work life balance, a less stressful job and I dont want people callin me, textin me all hours of the day and night when Im not working. I have a few job offers and I will be picking the one that I feel suits me best.
Some lady called me for an interview, I said “how much is starting pay? And do you have benefits?” Her answer was $22 an hour (Canadian) and no. I said “Well thanks for the opportunity but I have a couple job offers right now offering me more for less work. Good luck in your search” and hung up*
I have found that some employers are old guard grumpy n shit wont pay more blah blah. My current new employer said “we need people and we are willing to pay for it.” In my head “Bingo baby”
Anyways Im starting 25 an hour Canadian, a nice benefits package and a raise based on performance in 3 months. And every 3 months. And its doing stuff that I actually enjoy, with people who treat me like and adult. Its super nice. I enjoy going to work.
Have hope people, search and work hard to find the job thats right for you. And negotiate on your own behalf. No one else will.
