I do my position at my Job “Too well” and yet they are still threatening to relieve me.

This will be LONG so I apologize and I may be all over the place as I have trouble explaining myself thoroughly and getting every point in there, so work with me. There will be a couple edits lol. I started this Job at a Warehouse about 3 months ago. My friend had put me onto the job and we started the job together same day. When we get in, they show us around the building, then they start you in a random position to see how you will do. Newer people/people with same pay as me, move pretty consistently around the warehouse through a couple different positions, only people who operate/fix machinery or ride forklifts stay where they are at. Also to add to this, the position I do, there is two sides to it and you have one person per side. In my three months being there, atleast…

Newer people/people with same pay as me, move pretty consistently around the warehouse through a couple different positions, only people who operate/fix machinery or ride forklifts stay where they are at. Also to add to this, the position I do, there is two sides to it and you have one person per side. In my three months being there, atleast every week, if not like every other day, someone on the other side would quit, as it’s the most taxing job in the building. I was even told with the old manager that I would receive two pay increases, after a month and two months of being there, because he knew it was the most taxing. As still to this day, I haven’t seen anything, even after speaking to the new manger about it.

After about a week or so working there, my wife had gotten pregnant. I expressed this to them because, as any job, they don’t want you missing days and I have no choice taking my wife to her appointments. I do not have any family members what so ever to take her and I do not want her riding around in an Uber/Lyft. (My personal preference)

The new manager expressed to me I just need to tell him in advance when the appointments would be and it would be no big deal. I did this for about a month and a half straight, warning a week, if not two weeks in advance when these appointments would be. As of recently, my wife ended up getting HG (Not going to try and spell it) but extreme morning sickness, and I had to admit her to hospital and stay with her as Im also not comfortable just leaving her there any kind of way to rush to a company that doesn’t really care about me. I told him about this coming up and I got threatened, saying this job might not be a good fit for me as I’m missing too many days.

I talk to the owner and and the manager and they basically say that It’s not my quality of work, it’s me missing work. They also add that I affect the production of the work day too much when I miss a day. In other words, it’s nearly impossible for them to find someone with similar work drive to do it and it basically sucks when I’m not there. And also that if I cannot be there 5 days a week they would rather not have me.

To me that is the most backward stuff I’ve ever heard, especially for a company that is struggling, and I mean STRUGGLING to keep good workers.

I told them that they basically need to work with me more as I’ve been working with them or move me to a lower position. They want me in the position so bad that they basically agreed to work with me some more and we’ll talk again in two weeks.

That was about two weeks ago and now i’m on light duty, for a work related injury as a result of overworking myself 🙂 I am currently looking for something new as this company doesn’t give a single f*** about their employees no matter how much you have to offer.

Just wanted to share as I never thought I would be at one of these type of jobs. It’s just makes the departure that much more sweet. I would have been left but I am forced to be an adult now and have actual priorities. Never too upset at things like this as it truly makes you appreciate better things.
