After being so excited to go to university and then just slugging along I was excited to finally enter the work force. I studied Business and got a minor in mathematics and an internship doing data analysis that someone in my extended family got me. They let me know that they were just doing me a favor because of COVID and that it wouldn't lead to full time employment. Now I'm sitting here 10 weeks after graduating and have been applying for 6 months and feel like the last four years were for nothing. I've probably applied to over 200 positions that I believe I'd be able to do or grow from and have had about 20-ish phone calls and around 5-10 interviews. I had an offer rescinded, and a couple ghosted me. It's such a grind and don't understand why it isn't easier and we have to compete with the joneses like its 1950, except in the 2022 its the Kardashians. Makes me want to get a job and earn enough money to set myself up off grid where I can be self sufficient. This game isn't fun.
