So I've been working for this company in the Bay Area for 5 years now. I got my new job and they assigned me to work on a project that was not on the project board (the board the company uses to track what we are doing).
The day before I had a discussion with my boss about the lack of visibility of the project and the process he had in place for reporting this information and he basically told me to “deal with it”. I was completely shocked and I asked if he was expecting me to just do the work and I can tell from his body language that he was. I was very frustrated and felt like I was being treated unfairly but I don't know what to do. I don't have the money to quit my job and I can't think of anything that would cause him to treat me the way he has. I was thinking maybe the company will come to terms on something in the next few weeks that makes my position redundant.
Even in my last job (I had many) they wanted me to work over time doing other things. My boss is a bad person and I had to let him know he is doing something that's not ok. If you are an adult and you work for this person he will make you do the craziest of things. It is very difficult to be an adult and work for him. I am not a good example and I am not happy at all. I have seen people put up with worse things than I did. One employee wanted to quit because of him and she was not alone. He is a bully and a crook and he will steal from you and lie to you and break you. He will do all sorts of terrible things.
