I don’t want a notebook with the company logo. I want the vacation I planned for 6 months before you took my PTO as sick leave.

I’m a custodian at a hospital. My job is to walk into a Petri dish every day and clean it for everyone else. How. Can. You. Take. My. Vacation. As. Sick. Leave. I get sick here once a month. No matter how much PPE I am still going to get sick here more than any other job. I got Covid and was down and out for a week. So today they told me my vacation was denied because that week used all of my pto. NOT that I can’t get PTO for this vacation- they’re saying that I can’t GO on my vacation. I can’t voluntarily take unpaid time off. Why? Because then they’d “have to allow everyone else”. I’m done. I bust my ass here every day. I stay late when it’s busy and make sure my area is taken care of. They told me to my face and…

They told me to my face and in performance reviews that I am one of their best and most reliable workers. And then they tell me that the rest of my year is going to be spent here, no vacation, no days off, all sick days from here on out will get “disciplinary action”.
