I worked as an overnight stocker in a big supermarket for two months. I always viewed it as a summer job until office jobs began hiring again after vacation. My contract ended and my boss asked me to talk to her. I said I didn't want to continue. That I wanted to rest and then look for a day job. She was surprised but said they would call me for the christmas season and next summer, to see if I was available. I had to lie to my family, because they want me to work as 'anything' as long as I make money. This job was very hard on my both physically (I would wake up every afternoon with back pain and I had a poor performance during work time) and mentally (sweating a lot made me lose 10kg/22 lbs but also salts, which decreases my med's utility so I felt worse). This is the right thing to do IMO, but it feels like all my friends think I shouldn'tve quit immediately and worked until I found something else. I have enough saved to live 6-7 months comfortably.
