Sorry for bad grammar in advance
I (m19) work at my local grocery store in the deli and we also serve fired chicken as well. My store director told me to fry some chicken that was going out of code that day it was 4 boxes on a Wednesday. Wednesdays aren’t too slow but as it’s only me and one other person as they need to watch the other side for meat and cheese it’s just basically me. Anyways I get to work and there’s a mountain of chick in the case and the outside warmer is packed to the brim. On a Wednesday I normally only need to fry one box of chicken at most today I needed to fry 5 because they where going out of code that day. I was also told that people are coming in at 10pm when I get off to redo the floors so they needed to be dry so they could work. I didn’t get done frying chicken until 6:30 which is normally the same time I start cleaning up on any other day so I can finish in time. My department manager yells at everyone for her problems. I heard she yelled at everyone on Tuesday for the chicken that was going bad the next day. When I got to work she left me a list most of which I did. What I didn’t do was make to boxes of chips and one box takes 30-45 min Because I ran out of time. The other thing I didn’t do is clean the floors as it takes me 30 min to do I went on break at 8:30 came back at 8:45 and guess who’s there. If you guessed the people to do the floors you’d be correct. Now I can’t do the floors as they are already working on it. I feel like I’m going to get yelled at for not marking chips not frying the oldest chicken first even though I have to use the boxes that the morning people make (I work nights) as once they open them they have to be made in two days. I also feel like I’m going to get yelled because I didn’t do the floors as they came and started working on it at least 1:15 min before I was told they’d come and never had time to close early as my store director said I could once I finished making the chicken that I couldn’t do fast enough I feel like.
