I’m not gonna go into specifics on what my job is/my career. But it’s very fast paced and time sensitive. Requires a lot of communication with different departments and outside sources. LONG LONG LONG hours.
I’ve only been working there a year but I’ve been complimented by everyone at my work how good I am at my job. I only make 16 an hour.
I want to ask for a raise. Another job I’ve been interviewing at is offering 25 an hour so I might use that as leverage and ask my current job to meet me in the middle. Im thinking 19-20? Is this unreasonable?
They have the money to pay their employees more. I know they do.
Some people have been there for 3 years and still only make 17 an hr.
I think my work is also lightly sexist because it seems like a lot of the men get paid more and are taken more seriously. My coworker who is male has been working here less than the seniors and he’s getting promoted to a manager and making double. I calculated it and he’s gonna be making 36 an hour. And he’s doing work that IVE BEEN DOING SINCE I STARTED HERE.
I’m just fed up but I don’t want to leave because the work is something really meaningful to me and I love my coworkers. Everything about this job is good except the pay.
