I feel like quitting my company of three years.

I’ve been working at the same company for a little over three years now in a call center and for about the last year and a half I would primarily do our mailroom work also. This would take up a lot of my day, even to the point of where most days I didn’t even take a phone call as I would post loan payments all day. After a short while of working our mailroom I realized how much I hated taking calls. I didn’t think I would have to change my roll though because I worked at the headquarters and lived near by, but eventually my wife and I decided to move to a bigger city. I wanted to try and stay with the same company to avoid needing to change our health insurance and up until this point I really did love my job. My work place always…

My work place always had talked about how employee retention is their number one goal and if a role doesn’t suit you they will work with you to find something that does. On top of that during my time with the company I got a couple employee of the month awards and got our presidents circle for top employees. So when I was moving and I would have to move to remote work I thought transitioning to a new role would be very easy.

I interviewed for a total of four different roles over the course of the month and a half before I moved and kept getting rejections stating they picked someone with more experience. HR said some really dumb stuff about how me applying to so many different roles in such a quick amount of time made it seem like I’m running away from my current role and my direct management knew I didn’t want to stay in the contact center and was trying to change roles before moving to remote work. When talking with my direct management they seemed engaged and like they wanted to help but I just couldn’t help but feel more couldn’t have been done on their end.

After about two months of working remote in the contact center I feel completely drained everyday and i haven’t felt this depressed in a long time. I recently saw another position that I would like and was denied once more. None of these positions require any extra schooling mind you. They now say they are going to start having me shadow the position that I was the most interested in about once or twice a week so I can get the next position that would open up. I don’t know where this was about 4 months ago when I first started looking. I don’t know if they even mean I for sure get the next position and they estimate the next position will open in about 3 months time but how do they know that for sure.

I just feel so jerked around and feel like I can’t trust their word. I feel so exhausted and I nearly break down once a week at this point. I don’t even know where to begin in finding a new job that will make my life less miserable and really want to stay remote as I purchased a whole office set up and don’t want it to go to waste. I guess I just need to rant and maybe hear about what others have done if they have experienced this before. I think this follows the rules and want to thank everyone who read all the way through.
