I feel like unpaid internships shouldn’t be vilified like they are in this sub

As an international student, one of the only ways I can work is through unpaid internships. The harder the qualifications are, the better it is for my career since it can provide a good reference and more experience. I just feel like a lot of you don’t understand there are hundreds of thousands of ppl in the US whose only option to work and further their career is through those rigorous ass unpaid internships and they aren’t always for exploiting the average American or green card holder. Although I understand your pov, I just don’t believe these kinds of jobs are for you so imo, it’s kinda stupid to get mad at it. Let me know your thoughts on this I wanna see your perspectives.
