So part of my job involves sending bulk emails to our existing customers which is only a couple hundred but it usually happens maybe once a month or once every other month just depends on what needs to be communicated.
Most of the information communicate is done for the marketing team that has tools in place that allows them to send bulk emails to a large amount of people at any given time.
So when I asked my boss if we can expand my email sending from 50 a day to 1500 a month he said didn't make sense even though it was only $40 a year to do so. Because if I had to send bulk emails I could just send 50 a day for a couple days and be done with it.
Got to be clear I'm compensated pretty well for my job title I have fantastic benefits my boss is one of the owners of the company and if I need anything for my job such as a new monitor a new chair etc even at my home office they will provide us with them. But I understand that they still want to watch every expense if it's not necessary then they don't do it.
So I just went ahead and bought it for a year because I made my life a lot easier and a lot more efficient. I can fasten him the other day that I bought it because in these situations where I actually had to send emails to over 700 people he said to me oh just send us the receipt and will reimburse you and I had to laugh. Because he then realized that hey if I have to use this even a few times a year it's worth the money.
Pretty funny interaction I'm really glad that I worked for a company that values me as a person and employee even if these little quirks do come up from time to time.
