I work at a warehouse for a very famous beverage company where we load drinks on to pallets. Because of the Union we have an hour of PAID lunch, higher than average pay for my area, and if we get finished early we get paid for the whole day. Also, not Union related, but the managers and “higher ups” for the warehouse all start on the floor, so they’re actually cool and treat employees like people.
People don’t miss days. People don’t quit without notice. We have almost no errors and we finish early every day because we’re so productive.
There is no worker shortage, there is a humane working condition shortage, and when you create humane working conditions people don’t completely resent their job
