I find it so hard to care about certain customers

So I work for an online bank doing customer service. It's not the worst thing ever, it pays alright, $17 an hour, it's enough for now, I get a little breathing room with the finances. So today I get a call from a customer who sounds absolutely pissed, they said they closed an account and they're missing around $250 in interest that should have been deposited in their savings account, he's pissed off, cussing me out yelling at me through the phone, and like, it's annoying but I can deal and be polite because I know $250 can be make our break in some situations. So I get him authenticated and open his account list, sympathy. Gone. And so at this point I'm absolutely floored he's so pissed over $250, and that he's yelling at me over it.
But technically, it's his money, it's missing, so however unjust his anger towards me, it's my job to find that money, so I get to looking.

In all of my programs it shows the correct amount of interest was payed but he swears its gone, so I keep looking through the different programs at my disposal, getting cussed and berated the whole time, this goes on for about an hour and then he just stops, and so I asked what was up, and he said he found the money deposited where it needs to go.

So what's he do?

Tells about how it should have been quicker and that I should have caught that, and that the service at [redacted] bank is dogshit, and that he'll be leaving an awful survey (which kills my bonus) and I politely say: “thank you for your feedback sir is there anything else I can help you with?”

I'm so sick if being a doormat for people.

I know this isn't really anti work but it's kind of related since I will likely lose my bonus this week. Which is of course bullshit, that call should be reviewed, they record everything, but the company views your inability to satisfy customers like that as a shortcoming, similar calls have had this outcome, just absolutely obliterating my bonus.

Edit: it was 1 million per CD mistyped on the phone 😛
