I have not been having a good time. I have only been in social work a year and I've already been assaulted and now this. She was 25 years old. We have 2-3 staff at a time for 50+ residents as the shelter I work at. Every day I see rampant drug use, self harm, fights. I get screamed at and insulted on a regular basis. I'm not given the tools I need to do my job (staff, management support, basic supplies). A few days after the death, we get several messages from our manager berating us for not being harsher with clients and not following up. I don't think I can do this anymore.
