I found out that my coworker, who’s been at the company for 15+ years, is making $15 an hour. She thinks she deserves this, because she doesn’t have a college degree, and because she gets health insurance through her employer. Company made 5.4 BIL in revenue 2021

When she told me, she asked not to tell any other coworkers, as she was embarrassed, I told her the only people who should be embarrassed is the company. They've been taking advantage of this woman for 15 years simply because she's been tricked into thinking she doesn't deserve more than $15 an hour. For reference, I have a BS in Biology and was offered $16. If she got a raise that at least equals inflation each year, she'd be making over $24 an hour. I'm thrilled to be leaving this shithole Edit: She is doing highly specialized environmental testing work.
