I got a 50 cent raise at work..

I took this job that required a bachelor’s last year, despite it not paying well, because it was remote and I needed the flexibility to travel. I asked for a raise back in May and was told I would get a performance raise and another raise for my one year. Well, after asking every two weeks where my raise was, I just got it approved last week. In the email I received, they said “we usually don’t give the yearly raise early, but we decided to offer you a 50 cent raise two weeks earlier than usual. Congrats!” That 50 cent raise didn’t even account for inflation, and it’s just flat out disrespectful. The fact that they acted like saints for giving me this pathetic “raise” two weeks early. I still don’t make a living wage. The minimum wage in my state is 7.25, which is how they get away…

I’m just beyond frustrated that I can’t afford anything by myself. If I didn’t have parents that still helped me at the age of 24, I couldn’t afford a car, phone bill, insurance, or rent.
