I work in IT. I can do my job 100% from home, and did during the height of the pandemic. For some unknown reason we’ve been forced back into the office since summer 2020. I got COVID after avoiding it for 2 and a half years. I was vaxxed (but not boosted) so it didn’t hit me very hard but it was about a week recovery. I took the whole week off work (during our busiest time of the year) and the sad part is…I’d do it all again.
I think it’s an absolute shame I’d rather Ben coughing my lungs up and running a fever, than be at work. I hate my job. I turned to my wife the day before I had to go back and told her I wouldn’t mind getting sick again. Luckily I got to work from home the week after, so I haven’t gone back to the office yet, but they’ll force me back soon enough. I hate this shit. My work also makes us buy parking passes to come to work, so I’m sure that’s part of it. Fuck this place.
