To try and be as vague as possible so I don’t out myself, I worked for a company in a popular tourist destination in Scotland. I ran the tourist centre for this particular company as the manager. The work is normally seasonal but the owner explained to me at the beginning of the year that I would have full time, permanent, continuous employment all year round as I would simply just go and work for a different department.
The tourist season ended on Friday and it was then that the owner told me I was being paid off. 1 week’s notice he’d owe me. He went back on his word and basically fired me after I slaved away doing 6 day weeks for him all summer and making him lots of money. Not once did he express any disappointment in the work I had done all year.
Anyway, I’m still an approved editor for the Facebook page for that side of the business.
I’m plotting my revenge…once I’ve been paid what I’m due in holiday money and tips of course.
