Basically I worked as a cashier at a grocery store, and I had this asshole customer. The guy was rude to me and all of that. When it was time for him to get his receipt and change he just walked away. I told him “sir your change and receipt” and he just waived me off. This wouldn’t have been a problem if the guy didn’t leave 60 DOLLARS IN FUCKING CHANGE. At that job the rule was, if you have more or less then 10 dollars above the amount the register should have you get a warning. If you do it twice you get fired. I already had a strike and I didn’t know what to do so I stuffed it in my pocket. 2 weeks later I get fired because the guy came back to our store and said I stole 60 dollars from him.
The place I got fired from saw what happened with him waiving me off and said they still have to fire me, but won’t put in any police reports or things like that. Basically the only thing that happened is a got fired, and they wrote it as a company violation.
That being said, will this affect me getting another job? My parents are making it seem like I have no chance of getting a job anytime soon, and I don’t know if they’re right or wrong because I’m 16 with no idea on how hiring works.
