I'm in my teens and recently started working at my local grocery store. The job and hours are decent, the pay is questionable. I've had this job for 4 months or so. Around the end of my shift, I had to help a customer with payment and I went maybe 10 minutes over my shift but didn't care to say anything. We have a community board in the back room where you can well, write and I took a pencil to write something about the register as it's been a problem before. I was in a rush because my dad was outside to pick me up so I took the pencil on accident. When I went in yesterday, I was pulled into the managers office and was promptly let go for “theft”. I'm livid right now but I can't be bothered to do anything about it. Not even teens are safe from this.
