2 days ago I attended an induction for a factory worker job, they initially told me it was to run from 6am to 10:30am and that we would get a tour of the factory we were to be working in. Last minute at 4am they sent me a different address to goto at their sister-company's factory instead. They also made it very clear it would take 2-3 days to process our outcomes so we wouldn't start work the very next day. When I got to the induction they took my group straight into a classroom and we sat down to watch a presentation, followed by a test. He gave us every single right answer and has us mark it ourselves, then buried us in NDA's and more paperwork. After filling out all the paperwork he then told us we were to be starting in a completely different position and had to work upto the factory job that was promised.
He then said we were to stay an extra 2 hours after 10:30am to wait around to complete our physical and medical tests which were never mentioned beforehand. If we were to pass the medical and physicals we were to immediately start work the next day at 6am. I had another interview lined up just after my induction at 11:30am for a different job. I had also told the person this who contacted me on the phone the day before, she said that it's not an issue. When I told the presenter I can't stick around for the surprise medical because I have the interview he got angry, asked me why I'm even here and told me to get out before I could say anything else.
Does this usually happen? I don't feel bad about leaving because the company seemed toxic but can't get the outcome out of my head. Should I have cancelled my interview instead and just done the tests?
