This is just a rant. I am tired. After 10 years of remote/freelance work, I FINALLY got a salary job. I was hired to go to a hybrid schedule on 01/01, which I was happy with. Everyone else in the company has their own type of hybrid schedule.
With the accolades and positive comments I got from my team and others, I requested a hybrid schedule to begin 2 months before the original date, or allow for a few hybrid days a month. No reply from HR for 9 days, and I was let go on the 9th day due to “profit loss.” Guess who else was let go? NO ONE ELSE.
This is fucked. I am so tired of this war between remote and back in office that doesn't even need to happen. Remote work WORKS. I'm tired of folks who are losing their jobs, and their ability to live and make money for this made up system, because of a few people's personal and subjective opinions.
