Im working as a system engineer at a small company for 2.5 years now. Prior to joining the company i had no exp, no training, no knowledge of the subject and i managed to learn everything on the job and climb my way into becoming one of our staple system engineers.
However i have been paid on a min wage pay and we are on 24/7 stanby at all times and there is no OT, allowance,bonus or incentives whatsoever.
Recently the company went into retrachment period and most of us got laid off and now on a 1 month notice. I have been looking for new jobs and had some interviews and got offered with a new job. I was brought to the management and was told that they wantvto rehire me after the retranchment period is over and i told them i got an offer elsewhere and going there instead. They got mad at me and gaslight me saying “you wont make it out there! You will never be good enough to sustain a job elsewhere like you did here, the only reason you have this job is because we are lenient to you!” And more.
Ive been working nonstop that my social life is completely dead. Most of my friends dont recall seeing me ever and i have an anxiety attack everytime i receive a work email/msg on my time off. Constantly having tk be on standby no matter what the time and having to come to the office every 9-5. Whenever we made a small mistake its always been made bigger than it actually is.
Im taking a stand and leaving for sure regardless of what happens.
