I got low key called out in a meeting for something so petty at a new job and already want to quit.

A month ago I started a new job working in the deli at a health foods grocery store making $11/hr. The place is desperately short-staffed, so much so that after just three training shifts I was scheduled closing the deli all by myself. Last night we had an hour-long meeting and I got indirectly called out. I don't know if I'm overreacting but I already feel burnt out and done with this place. Basically, life is pretty hectic for me for a variety of reasons. Most days I'm cutting it close trying to get to work on time. Usually my routine allows me to shower right before work and I let my hair dry in the car on the way there. Once I arrive I go straight to the bathroom to put my hair up, put my apron on, and wash my hands before getting to work. This takes maybe…

This takes maybe one or two minutes.

Well, at the meeting we were told that we are to arrive to work with our hair already pulled back and can't go to the bathroom to tie it back when we get there. I know I'm the only person doing this so it was absolutely directed at me.

I guess what I'm feeling right now is frustration with the constant pettiness, feeling under a microscope, every little thing I do “wrong” being warched, feeling like the smallest and most irrelevant crap is always made into an issue. I'm working for an unlivable wage at a place that claims to be so desperate for employees, but you're seriously going to passive aggressively call me out for something so innocuous in a meeting? I am so fed up with work culture in this country. Me going to the bathroom first thing for 1 or 2 minutes when I get to work literally effects absolutely no one (AM shift leaves an hour after I'm scheduled to arrive so it's not like they're waiting on me to leave).

Maybe I'm overreacting. I don't know. I'm just so tired.
