I can't say “We should give this person a raise after ten years of hard work” I have to say, “If we don't give them a raise, we may lose the loyalty of an experienced employee to another firm.” or I can't say. “Stealing that idea and taking it for ourselves because we're bigger is a shitty thing to do”. I have to say “We could get sued and its bad PR for us”. You can't sell an idea to management unless it's phrased as 100% selfishness.
