I hate my job, what shall I do?

I’m 24 years old, from the UK and currently working as an accountant. I studied maths/economics at A level, then went to university and did an accounting degree, and then got a graduate job, and I am now studying CIMA. However, my life is miserable. I work 8am-5pm, go home and try to study and then sleep and repeat every day.

I don’t think I want to be an accountant, I hate the office culture, I find the job itself boring and working alongside studying means I have almost no time for my friends/family/girlfriend.

When I mention how I feel most people just tell me to continue to study and it will be worth it in the end. But will it? I will just be in the same job I dislike but with slightly more money.

I’m worried that if I quit the job or studying I have wasted a good opportunity as essentially it’s took me around 8 years of study/work to get to this point.

I don’t know what I would enjoy doing, but feel like if I’m going to be working for around 45+ hours per week I should find something I enjoy.

Does anyone have any advice?
