As a young guy just entering the workforce after graduating from university, I feel like work is endless toil and misery. I Wake up in ass crack of dawn before sunlight to commute one hour to work then slave away for 8+ hrs then commute another hour back to home. I'm tired as fk and unable to do anything else afterwards. I used to enjoy working out and playing video games but I just don't have the energy or time to do em anymore. Idk how people keep doing this for 20-30 years before retiring. It is depressing as hell and makes me wonder what is even the point in all this. Worst of all even after all this working, I would never be able to afford a place of my own and just have to keep renting and slaving away. Everything is so expensive with inflation on the rise and housing prices are just completely fucked in Canada. I've talked to all my friends about this and we all feel the same. Our generation is fked and there is no hope for us. We are all going to forever slave away and own nothing. Wage slaving is modern day slavery, it is how the system keeps us working forever and why age of retirement keeps going up. The rich keeps getting richer, exploiting every last drop of human labour and natural resources, fucking everything else up and leaving the rest of us to suffer as usual. No one from my generation is able to retire. I don't see how I can ever retire going on like this. I feel like all this is causing me to be hopeless and depressed as well. Fuck late stage capitalism and neoliberalism and every book licker out there defending this fucked up system. Something has to change soon, it can't keep going like this.
