“How to be an anti-capitalist in thr 21st century” By Erik Olin Wright
I don't know if anyone on here has heard of his work (maybe I'm late to the party), but basically he updated a lot of Marx's ideas and adapted them to modern times.
He basically says for democratic socialism to work, we must have:
1) Unconditional Basic Income.
2) Public programs that facilitate the conversion of capitalist firms to employee-owned.
3)Specialized public credit institutions that support co-ops.
4) Publicly supported co-op development initiatives.
5) Training programs for how to organize and operate co-ops.
Honestly I can't do the book justice and would recommend people read it. I got it at my local library, but if you have time it's a good read for how to fix our shitty boss issue.
