I have come to notice that the Subway I work at is fucked.

I am a 17 year old male and have been working for Subway for about a year and a half. My coworkers are lovely and my bosses (I thought) were pretty awesome. A couple of stories I've heard from my coworkers has brought some terrible things to my attention. Firstly, the manager of the store sets up deliveries on all days that she doesn't work, so she doesn't have to do extra work. On the days that she sets up the deliveries to, my coworkers are forced to pick up the slack. In order to get through the morning tasks in time to put the deliveries away, they have to wake up at 6:30ish every morning (normal work time is from 8, to have the store open and accepting orders at 9) and sometimes even earlier, to arrive at the store at around 7-7:30. They are not paid overtime for this (they don't even declare the extra hours they work, for reasons I do not understand).

This Thursday, I was rostered to work from 5pm to 10pm (usually we get out at 10:30ish, due to our closing tasks, but we are compensated for that). At around 2-3pm that day, a coworker said she couldn't make it to a shift, so the store went about finding someone to cover/swap that shift with her. They could not find anyone. The worker who opened the store that morning volunteered to do the close with us, working at least 15 hours that day. I only found this out around halfway through my shift, as I was under the impression that she swapped with the other girl. When she was having her break, I asked her why she volunteered. She responded that she didn't want us to deal with one of the owners.

The owners of the store are absolute tight arses. Always trying to save a few cents. Whenever a shift can't be covered, they would rather literally work the shift themselves than fork out a few extra hourly dollars as incentive. Sadly, this is what they did to B. I listened with horror as she explained that she wasn't working for extra pay, she was working to prevent us from dealing with our tightarse bosses. They would make us stay until 11 maybe even 12 if it meant that the store was extra clean. Gee, it's almost as if working there for over a year has taught us a thing or 2 about efficiency, but no, everything has to be the way they want it to be.
At my position (level 2), I get paid $13.73 AUD an hour, and my coworkers (level 3) each get paid around $25-26 AUD an hour.

I'm sorry if this post sort of sounded like a rant, I'm just so frustrated that my coworkers are basically killing themselves for bosses that don't even give a shit about them. I don't care about how much I make, I just want my coworkers to be compensated for the sacrifices they make.
