Antiwork

I just got a vanilla job, and my boss is actually pretty awesome!

I know, I know, anti-work, and I definitely get it! I had an absolutely horrible boss for quite a few years when I was a homeless teenager, who paid me $20/day to work from 7:45am to 8pm (supposed to be, sometimes I had to stay in the shop up to 3am because I wasn't allowed to leave until everyone got their clothes out of the dryers) and I took it despite everything because I had nothing else. BUT!!! this job seems like it'll be nice. I'm only getting paid $9/hr and only working 5hrs a day up to five days a week, but it's a lot better than the $7.25/hr my other callback offered for even less hours. I'm actually really happy. I'm a single parent, working online entertainment for over a year now just to afford diapers because I couldn't afford childcare to even start a vanilla job. now…

I think this will be good. my boss is AWESOME. she uses my preferred name and pronouns, she understands that I'm a parent and might have emergencies, she said if anyone disrespects me I can simply tell them to leave until they do, with or without their things. the other employees say they're happy working for her. she's one of the nicest people I've ever met (and even worked in my current industry when she was young, so understands that too!)

asking for some wishes of luck. I start in the morning.
