I've worked in a warehouse since April of last year. And have always been top among my peers in terms of performance and attendance.
Last summer we were so short staffed that 60 hour weeks became the norm, I did 80. Less than 60 wasn't optional, and despite my wife and I both needing me to work less for our mental health, I kept up. I had the expectation that they'd be thankful for all of the hard work.
Today I got fired for allegedly telling someone to fuck off, someone I've never spoken to before. It almost feels like the whole situation was fabricated to get rid of me. The only reason I can think of for that is because I was on light duties for 2 months after a severe workplace injury.
I worked harder at this job than anywhere else, this is where I told myself I'd build a career up and do well. I came in early and stayed late every day (paid hourly thank god).
I feel so lost now.
