I work with the public. I need to talk. I need to stand and walk a lot. When I'm knocked on my ass with an illness, I cannot treat your customers to my full capacity or your standards.
I work part time. I don't get sick time. I make minimum wage. I can't afford time off. But I need it even more badly since I have to keep coming into work, not resting, and getting fucking sick again, further perpetuating all of this!
I'm not immunocompromised, this is just a streak of bad luck. This can happen to anyone.
People need sick days regardless of their employment status, position or wage.
