I just resigned from a toxic company. here’s what I learned

I'd been working with this pharmaceutical company since past many years, and I finally resigned. As much as i thought that you do need medicines for diseases and we were doing something good there, this whole pandemic has shifted my view. I was so wrong. Apart from getting maximum money out of patient's pockets, I've now seen them treating their employees the worst way possible. That too, during pandemic years! While earning shitload of money in profits. They're restructuring left right and center since past two years, and it has broken down so many people. I've personally seen people breaking down because of the huge stress job insecurities brought while dealing with COVID. So here's my two cents for you- You do not owe your loyalty to any employer, company, team. They'll earn that if they need it. No matter the amount of money they pay you while you're shitty…

They're restructuring left right and center since past two years, and it has broken down so many people. I've personally seen people breaking down because of the huge stress job insecurities brought while dealing with COVID.

So here's my two cents for you-

  1. You do not owe your loyalty to any employer, company, team. They'll earn that if they need it.
  2. No matter the amount of money they pay you while you're shitty unhappy if you look hard enough and long enough, you'll get the same money and much better work environment
  3. It's always scary to get out of your comfort zone, but believe me, it's worth it
  4. You'll miss few people or perks that you'll leave behind, but you'll get over it.
  5. Jump companies whenever you cannot take it anymore. It's not you, it's them. Leave.

PS: I was in HR, so it pains me more and more to see so many people stuck in bad situations. Do what makes you happy. “we are a family” and all that is shit.
