I applied for a job at small local history museum. Asked for cover letter, resume, application form information, with two writing samples (essay and copywriting) with my digital artwork portfolio. Spent 15 hours working on it. I’m overqualified.
The current person (who I thought was just trying to temporarily run stuff while they find someone to hire) sucks. Their Instagram posts literally get reused and only a few likes and their Twitter is dead. Shitty pictures. Boring copywriting.
Literally got a response from the hiring department saying “oh sorry, that position is already filled.”
I’M SEETHING.
On THEIR website, it’s still listed as vacant, as well as the other websites it’s listed on.
I sent them a firm email letting them know that they should take it down before wasting other applicants’ time.
I hate applying for jobs.
I’m still going to walk in and hand them my resume just to make a point and make them look bad for not taking down the job.
