I just told my wife, who btw doesn’t work, that I will be participating in the general strike on Monday.

Her response very much disappointed and upset me. She said “What if you get in trouble at work?” To which I replied “To me, this is far more important than any consequences I could face” and then she said “What if you get fired?” To which I said “There are other jobs.” And that was the whole conversation. No discussion about why I feel so strongly about this, nothing about standing in solidarity for the women of this country, no words of support for my choice, and really nothing meaningful at all. All she cared about was me keeping my 2 jobs that allow her to be a lazy bum around the house, sleeping til noon every day, and doing absolutely nothing for the short hours she's actually awake. So there you have it, folks. My own wife, a woman and citizen of the US whose very rights were just taken away, showed me in very few words that she cares more about herself and her lifestyle that she gets to live because of me, than she actually does about me, my beliefs, and the effects of the actions of this ridiculous SCOTUS.
