I know, I know don’t accept the counter offer but need some advice.

My SO has worked for his company for 15 years. The stress is getting to the point of physically manifesting as chest pains etc. he can no longer separate work and personal, basically he brings work home and it’s.. irritating. I have helped him find a new job out of retail but they are offering $3 less than what he makes now. We are ok right now financially if he does switch jobs (depending how gas and inflation goes). My husband has accepted the new job but doesn’t start till mid July. Somehow his GM/BM has been hearing rumors of him leaving and they just got done talking about moving him to a new department (less stress and possibly help not bring work home) and giving him a $2 raise from what he is making now ($5 difference from new job) Ultimately I know this is his choice but what…
