i work minimum wage because that's just the way it is here in a small town full of shitty jobs. it never ceases to amaze me just how little money i make. my last paycheck was not good because i was sick for a couple of days and when i looked at it, i honestly thought 'i should make this in a day, not two weeks.'
i just can't imagine the audacity of someone thinking they're entitled to workers at this pay. i don't know how my boss can keep a straight face delegating work and setting expectations so ridiculously high, i'd be afraid to even say them out loud. in a better world, no one would ever ever consider these demands realistic. even in this world, in no other situation are they realistic. i'd be astonished every single day to see my employees come in. that anyone would ever work for me at that rate would make me question reality. it's just nothing. that amount of money is just laughably nothing.
