I need a break

I'm a doctor, or general practitioner. I started working in 2020 and haven't stopped since. I was the COVID doctor of a whole city. Now I'm working in a rural post in another city that belongs to my country's public healthcare system. I really like my job but I need a break. In my country, if you work for the public system it's like you've had just one employer. I sent a request for recognition of worked years a month ago, but they haven't even answered the email. So today I had an appointment with a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with a burnout and gave me 21 paid days off, which would have been the vacation I would have had if they answered my email. Since they didn't, I'll have these days off and then I'll have extra vacation because the law says they have to recognise my worked time…

I feel good. I can now rest and get paid to do nothing.
