I need some advice for requesting to go down to part-time work?

Posting this here so I can get some good advice and help please. I am in the middle of figuring out some health issues and recently learned I am struggling to work full time. For context, I am an adult in their early 20s who just joined the working world after trying to deal with college. I plan to go back to school but since I’m a young adult who just started working, my only chance was getting fast food jobs. Anyways, onto the issue. My employer continues to schedule me full-time after I requested if it was ok to go down to 4 days. He basically said no. Now beforehand, my employer was dismissive (twice) about my health reasons to change one day of the schedule and laughed about it. This time, since I have multiple appointments coming up out of town, I requested 4 days so it wouldn’t…

This time, since I have multiple appointments coming up out of town, I requested 4 days so it wouldn’t run into my work schedule and I wouldn’t need to request days off. And like I said, he denied it and I didn’t want to tell him the personal health issues I was dealing with along with these appointments.

What’s ironic was when I warned him about the upcoming swarm of appointments months ago he said he was willing to help out and told me to talk about it. I did and now he continues to schedule me full time. The thing is, getting a doctors note is difficult because what I’m currently dealing with doesn’t have any clear side effects. You see, I have multiple physical and mental issues that I recently was diagnosed with and was able to work full time until my health began to act up again and I realized it was because I was working so much and the type of work I do physically along with getting small (but still legal) breaks.

Because I am facing health issues and doctors appointments (which may lead me to get surgery anyways as I am in the running tests phase of appointments) I am more focused on my current appointments. I will eventually look into disability (short term if needed or even not short term) but that is my last resort as I plan to go school to get a less physically demanding job. Quitting might not be an option for me (financially) either.

So what should I do? Should I continue to put in requests?

TLDR: Health issues flared up and I realized I can’t work full time but unable to go down to part time because requests keep getting denied. Unsure about getting a doctor’s note or disability and can’t quit due to financial reasons.
