I don't know if this is a good place to ask for advice but I really need some.
I started working for a guy that I found on CL about a month and a half ago.
The job that the guy hired me for is a WFH gig where I am basically a political phone banker and the pay is $9.50 an hour.
Everything was okay for the first 2 weeks of the job and then all hell started to break loose.
When I started working for this man, he said that he would pay me on Fridays.
I literally will get my checks either on the following Sundays or the following Wednesdays or whenever he feels like paying me.
The man that hired me will literally send a text message telling people that they can work 8 to 9 hours but will turn off the server at like 2 or 3 hours.
When I get on the phone and try to do the job, I have people that are literally cussing me out and I am just supposed to not question it.
When I ask the man who hired me about payment stuff, he almost never answers my text messages.
I suspected that he was cheating me out of some money and he lied about it even though I went in the system and counted up my hours.
Oh and don't let me started on the server issues. Dude literally saw that the server was down for an hour and a half last night and didnt reach out to the workers until the end of the night.
I want to strangle this man because he is getting on my last one fourth of a fucking nerve. I am behind on so much stuff because of this cat's incompetence.
I am behind on bills. I can't take care of bare necessities. I have chest pains because I am stressed out about the bills.
I can't even go and get something as simple as a taco because that money has to go to bills…because this dumdum keeps screwing with my hours.
I am trying so hard to make things work and stick them out and be a good adult but I am 2 seconds from going all “Eastside of Detroit” on the man who hired me, because he is getting on my last damn nerves.
What is your advice for me in this situation? What would you do if you were me? Would you just bounce or would you keep trying to make the job work?
I am at a loss right now. 🙁
