I signed an offer letter for my first job out of college and I’m set to start mid January. An out of town concert I’ve been planning for months that was supposed to be last week was rescheduled for the end of January. I really want to go but that means I’d have to take a day off after not even two full weeks of working there.
I was advised to not tell my employers I need to take a day off before I start working because they could rescind my offer, but I’m not sure how else to approach this. Some suggestions I’ve heard are to tell them I have a doctor appointment or just call out sick the day of. My mom told me not to lie and just be honest. I’m kind of stressing and could use some anti work approved advice on how to navigate this!
